Telling stories

I have been making short films since 1987 and although the technology has changed the basic craft of telling a story visually remains the same. Shooting and editing local news stories was also a very useful experience that taught me to think on my feet and quickly structure a story.

Usually the first step in a production is to create a treatment or outline of the video based on the client's requirements that allows a budget to be formulated.

It is also not unusual for a client to have a budget in mind and create a treatment from that. In some cases especially when filming events a budget is agreed and then I shoot and edit the video to present to the client.

Completed videos can be supplied in a variety of file formats according to the client's requirements. I do not usually deal with dvd or blue ray duplication unless required.

The best of all possible worlds

As well as producing videos for my own clients I also freelance for other production companies. The work is typically varied but it usually includes my cameraman skills and sometimes editing.

It is an opportunity to work with other crew and extend my list of professional contacts.

As well as my technical skills I am now offering my freelance services as a director and/or Producer.
