Producing media for the web
Viewfinder Visuals offers three types of web media production each with it's own advantages. Choosing which one to use is dependent upon the subject and the intended audience.
While it is possible to aim for a general audience as with marketing it is usually more effective to design towards a specific audience.
In all three types the budget required is determined by production values - it is not the case that one form of production would necessarily be cheaper than another.
As well as producing the media we can also offer guidance on technical issues and give advice on using social networking and viral marketing to increase the exposure of the material.
Video for the Web
Producing a video specifically for the web generally means keeping it short and interesting. If you post your video to YouTube you can take advantage of their hotspot tool to see how viewers interest varies through it's duration.
Photo-films or Audio Slideshows
The use of still photographs with an audio track and displayed as a video file is an interesting alternative that can have several advantages over conventional videos. For example recording the audio without a camera is less intrusive and usually is less stressful for people unused to appearing in front of a camera.
Audio for the web or Podcasts
There are two main advantages of producing Podcasts, the first is the smaller file size is easier on both your server's bandwith and for faster download. Secondly as with Photo-films the experience of recording audio is a lot less stressful for non-professional speakers than being filmed. Production values can be increased by the use of music and effects to create an engaging soundscape.

Sponsorship
The main attraction of sponsoring productions for display on the web is it's availability - worldwide and 24/7 -365 days and it's potential longevity. In addition to display on the web showing at film festivals is also a possibility.
I am currently looking for sponsors for several short film projects with budgets around £5,000 per production. Credits for sponsorship will appear at the credits at the beginning and end of the films.
